Studies Suggest Fibromyalgia Sufferers Consider Magnetic Therapy as a Drug

Dr. Bakst and Several Recent Studies Suggest Fibromyalgia Sufferers Consider Magnetic Therapy as a Drug Free Way of Alleviating Symptoms

Fibromyalgia, a disease affecting approximately 5 percent of the population, can cause pain that is truly profound and widespread affecting all aspects of the sufferer's life. Studies demonstrate that the use of magnetic therapy is an effective drug free means of alleviating this profound pain.

Palm Desert, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2008 -- Fibromyalgia is a rather elusive disease characterized by widespread muscular and myofascial aches and pains. The most common sites are the back, shoulders and the joints, accompanied by pain and stiffness. Studies now show that those with the disease are experiencing drug free pain relief by using magnetic therapy to block pain receptors.

"Approximately 5 percent of the population is affected with this disease. The exact etiology is not exactly known, however most physicians agree that the fibromyalgia patient experiences pain amplification due to abnormal sensory processing in the central nervous system," states Dr. Bakst. "It is here that the use of magnetic therapy may well have its beneficial salutary effect."

The pain that people with fibromyalgia experience is truly profound and widespread. It is accompanied by muscular aching, numbness, tingling and burning. It affects the sleep pattern leading to mental fatigue, anxiety and stress. Many patients turn to over the counter medications and steroids to help alleviate the symptoms of the disease. Stronger drugs, antidepressants and local injections are other medications sought to deal with severe and widespread pain.

"Since the problem is one of distorted sensory processing we have been led to investigate the use of magnets for this pain. The use of magnetic therapy is a drug free means of alleviating this pain," states Dr. Bakst. "By using magnets with a depth of field, you can effectuate the nerve impulses. The way magnets work is rather complex. Basically, the outside of a nerve is coated with magnetically positively charged ions. When the painful stimulus occurs, these ions pour into the interior of the nerve thereby initiating the nerve impulse, which then travels to the brain. Our products place a huge negative magnetic field over these positive ions. The negative magnetic field will impede the flow of these positive charges and will stop the flow of these magnetically charged particles to the brain, which is a means of treating the painful stimulus with a medication free modality," Bakst explains.

According to Dr. Bakst, two clinical studies prove the effectiveness of using magnetic mattress pads for the treatment of pain of Fibromyalgia. "Based on these studies, we recommend a complete system for the treatment of and the alleviation of pain and tenderness due to Fibromyalgia. We recommend our magnet mattress pad in addition to other products such as our magnetic chair pad, magnetic back belt and magnetic insoles to continue the effects of the magnetic alleviation of the pain impulse."

Dr. Bakst stresses that there is no such thing as pain if the impulse does not reach the brain. Using highly powerful negative magnetic fields has been demonstrated to arrest the pain in 80 to 90 percent of patients with this affliction. Anyone suffering from Fibromyalgia is encouraged to visit the Dr. Bakst website to find out more about this drug free pain relief alternative.

Court Decision Announced By Travelers Insurance

Travelers Announces Court Decision Regarding Statutory and Common Law Direct Actions

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- February 19, 2008 -The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has vacated the March 2006 decision of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that had approved Travelers' previously announced settlements of statutory and common law asbestos-related direct action litigation.

The settlements are subject to final court approval of an order that enjoined further direct action litigation against certain Travelers entities. The Second Circuit's decision found that the court originally issuing that order did not have the jurisdiction to do so. Travelers is currently analyzing the Second Circuit's opinion to determine whether to pursue further appellate proceedings. In addition, other parties may seek further appellate review of the ruling.

Travelers will not make an adjustment to the level of its asbestos reserves as a result of the Second Circuit's decision. Accordingly, the decision does not impact Travelers' earnings.

Travelers would have preferred the finality afforded by the settlements and related injunction. However, since Travelers entered into the settlements, there have been court decisions upholding defenses similar to those asserted by Travelers in the common law direct action litigation. In addition, the asbestos litigation environment has improved generally over the past several years. As a result, Travelers' current outlook for the overall direct action litigation is more favorable than it was when Travelers entered into the settlements. If the Second Circuit's decision becomes final, the settlements will become voided and Travelers intends to litigate the direct action cases vigorously.

Always check into something that doesn't seem right. If you have not heard about them before, don't assume it legitimate. And don't waste your money on useless offers that warn about a "Final Notice", but don't use a company email address.

An Internet company that doesn't have a web site and expects you to send the order in via postal mail! Can this be anything more than a scam for those too unaware to know better...?

Fed Cut Rates Trigger Mortgage Refinance Applications

Online Mortgage Portal Receives Spike in Refinance Applications after the Fed Cut Rates

LendingGateway.com receives hundreds of online enquires to get into a fixed rate despite the interest rate drop.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2007 -- Over the last week, after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 0.5 percentage points, LendingGateway.com received an increase in online enquires and phone calls about how this will affect the home loan market. Despite the Federal Reserve's intentions of alleviating the "sub-prime" home loan chaos through the rate cut mortgage rates continued to increase.

"The most common thing we see is people that have adjustable rate mortgages worried about their interest rate increasing and affecting their ability to meet their monthly loan payment," explains Scott Olson, COO at LendingGateway.com, "the best advice our loan consultants give is to look into re-financing their existing home loan from an ARM to a safer fixed rate."

In addition to an increase in online mortgage applications, LendingGateway.com, also saw a jump in several debt consolidation enquiries on their online form at https://apply.lendinggateway.com/forms/debt.php.

"Although we advise consumers to get into a safer fixed rate not everyone qualifies," says Alexander Capio, Owner and CEO of LendingGateway.com. "This is why we often steer our online home loan shoppers into repairing or establishing their credit." Alex also explained how the expansion into Auto Finance, Student Loan, and Debt Consolidation has proven successful for many people who needed a better FICO score to qualify for a better interest rate on their home loans.

Why Consumers Won't Switch Accounts Despite Savings

Consumers Loath to Switch Accounts Despite Potential Savings

Weary customers need to take advantage of the savings to be made by switching their current accounts, says CreditChoices.co.uk

December 20, 2007-- Weary customers need to take advantage of the savings to be made by switching current accounts, says CreditChoices.co.uk

Despite savings of up to £160 - sparked by a high-street bank war this summer - consumers are loathed to switch their current account.

Chris Eagle, CreditChoices.co.uk commercial manager, says: "In spite of measly returns of only 0.1 per cent on the majority of current accounts, 75 per cent of customers told us that they had stayed loyal to the same bank for more than five years."

This year's current account war saw some banks - such as Alliance & Leicester - offering as much as 6.5 per cent on in-credit balances, while others offered incentives of up to £100 to switch, but still many people remain faithful to their bank.

Eagle explains: "Although many people are aware of the savings they could make by switching current account, 46 per cent think it's easier to stay with one bank, and are willing to settle for a poor return in order to keep things simple."

Other switching deterrents include:
•    Having other
financial products with your bank (22 per cent)
•    Not having enough time to change (nine per cent)
•    Being worried that it will affect
credit ratings (four per cent)
"It has never been easier - or more profitable - to switch current accounts," says Eagle.

"Banks automatically transfer all of your direct
debits and standing orders to your new account and customers should be up and running in their new high-interest accounts within 10 days," he explains.

Of the 24 per cent of respondents who had switched, three quarters said it was an easy process, with
banks doing most of the work.

"Anyone still worried about complications can simply keep their old account active for a couple of months, in case any payments haven't been switched," concludes Eagle, "but few people have this problem."

Paperless Payday Loan Provider Pushes Industry

Ground Breaking Payday Loan Provider Pushes Industry Boundaries

Cash Doctors, Australia's largest online payday loan provider has raised the bar for its industry. With recent system upgrades the company is providing urgent cash relief to thousands of Australians nationwide faster than any other provider.

Gold Coast, QLD (PRWEB) December 11, 2007 -- Cash Doctors has set themselves apart from their industry by giving their clients exactly what they want, when they want it. With a recently upgraded system, Cash Doctors' new clients are receiving loans within the hour, and returning clients within seconds. As a result, the Gold Coast-based online short-term loan company is now providing nationwide $100 - $600 loans, faster than any other Australian lender.

Company co-founders Greg Ellis and Séan Teahan have introduced system upgrades to their already paperless loan application to include fully automated application, messaging, and
cash transfer systems. These upgrades have allowed their clients near instant access to their loan, faster than any other online payday loan provider in Australia.

Previously, people in need of a instant cash fix had to wait at least 24 hours before their payday advance could be transferred into their account, and even longer for a check to clear. Now Cash Doctors is providing
instant cash relief to those who need it most.

With it's company policies based around a shared experience with the customers, Cash Doctors aim to help out it's customers in both the short and long term is right on the mark. "Having been in the very same situation ourselves in years gone by, we understand our clients need for an instant cash fix," says Ellis.

Keeping in line with their client welfare based policies, Cash Doctors also publishes finance articles, e-books, and news designed to keep their clients financially informed and in turn, help them have
money to live freely.

Through the provision of instant cash relief within seconds, Cash Doctors has upped the standards of the payday loan industry. With their exceptionally short transfer times and the publishing of
finance documents such as articles and e-books, it is evident that client welfare is central to every process within the company, and is exemplified by the availability of short-term loans being readily available to those who need it most.

Personal Injury Lawyer Leader Among Female Attorneys

Carol L. Schlitt, New York Personal Injury Lawyer, Celebrates 21 Years as a Leader Among Female Attorneys

Carol L. Schlitt, a noted New York personal injury attorney, celebrates her 21st year as a leader in the male dominated legal profession. A past winner of the New York Municipal Attorney of the Year, Ms. Schlitt discusses her career as a lawyer and the challenges that she and all women face in the field.

Huntington, NY (PRWEB) September 13, 2007 -- Carol L. Schlitt has just celebrated her twenty-first year as an attorney and she remains a leader among female attorneys in New York. When Ms. Schlitt graduated from St. John's Law School in 1986, women attorneys had to swim against the tide of male dominance. The American Bar Association (ABA) reports that women comprised only 13 percent of all attorneys in 1985. Today, the ABA finds that women account for 29 percent of all attorneys and that number continues to climb.

"I can remember when I first ventured into a Bronx court room how it felt like the very definition of "an old boy's club," Ms. Schlitt recalled in a recent interview. "Most of the men were nice, though women had to work twice as hard and be twice as good to earn their respect." Ms. Schlitt smiles at the memory. "It helped that I knew sports; to this day, I remain a die-hard Mets and football Giants fan."

According to the ABA report, the legal profession remains a male-dominated world, even though women account for an increasingly large number of students in law school. "It is good to see more women entering the field, but we need to continue to push our way to the top of the profession," says Ms. Schlitt. "Too often, women are viewed as not aggressive enough, not serious or too emotional. It is wrong and it drives me crazy." Ms. Schlitt cites her own cases where she bested some of the City's best male attorneys. "I beat them not because I was a woman and they were men, I beat them because I did the better job on those cases."

After graduating from law school, Ms. Schlitt worked for the New York City Law Department (a.k.a. the Corporation Counsel). "We were the lawyers for the City of New York. I love New York and loved defending the City." She handled many of the City's largest and most famous cases and became an expert on motor vehicle cases. "They gave me responsibility for the Jackie Robinson Parkway because it was such a treacherous road and had so many accidents." While the City hired many female attorneys, all the senior positions went to men. "As a woman, you had to prove yourself over and over." Ms. Schlitt did well for her client and was named the New York Municipal Attorney of the Year by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ms. Schlitt remains a leader in the field and a role model for female attorneys. She is well known in the courts and her verdicts have been cited in the press and earned as among the highest awards in New York City. "I started my own firm in 1998," she said, seeking a way to make more of a connection with her clients and to serve them better. "Maybe it's because I am a woman, but winning a big verdict is only part of the job. I enjoy the connections I make with my clients. I think the personal services, the relationships, matter just as much as the large awards."

Asked about the challenges of running her solo practice law firm (The Law Office of Carol L Schlitt), Ms. Schlitt said, "Like all businesswomen, I have to keep learning to keep up with changes in the law and the business world. And the technology keeps changing too, creating both challenges and opportunities." Her firm has a web site that both attracts and serves clients.

Like many women, Ms. Schlitt wears many hats. She is a noted trial attorney who specializes in personal injury law; she is a business woman, a mother of three boys and a wife. "All women struggle to find the balance between our careers, our families and our personal lives. It is never easy, but it is rewarding." Ms. Schlitt serves as a mentor to young female attorneys, offering advice and lending a helping hand such as well as volunteering her time as a moot court judge. "People gave me advice when I was young and starting out; I want to return the favor."

Asked if she thinks she can relax after all her years of success, Ms. Schlitt shakes her head. "I fight harder now than ever, not just for myself, not just to advance the cause of women attorneys, but because that's what I owe my clients." Given her success as a personal injury attorney, Carol Schlitt's fight seems to be paying off nicely.
